WCJC band and choir host donkey basketball game Wharton County Junior College Band and Choir is again sponsoring a fun evening of entertainment in the WCJC Gym. America's craziest and most unpredictable sport - Donkey Basketball - will be featured at the WCJC Gym following the Lady Pioneers' Volleyball game at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6. The teams will be made up of WCJC band, choir and drama students. Circle A Donkey Ball Show brings their combination of circus atmosphere and rodeo thrills to the town for the benefit of the WCJC Band and Choir spring tour. The old saying "stubborn as a mule," will be exemplified when the student riders match wits with the donkeys. The odds are that in most cases the donkeys will win. The old rodeo days will be brought to mind when the enthusiastic riders take their spills and bounces. There will be plenty of laughs for the entire family during this funfilled evening. You haven't witnessed basketball until you have seen it played on donkeys. It is really a little different than regular basketball. Taking a shot at the basket when the donkey decides to go the other way, or taken while sitting on the donkey. If you are looking for a fun-filled evening for the entire family come out and watch the local "donkey wranglers" challenge the Funny Long Eared Donkey Stars that will be in the game. Donkey Ball is not a laugh-aminute sport, but rather a laugh-asecond sport. Tickets are $5 before the game and can be obtained from any WCJC Band or Choir member or by calling 532-6300. Tickets at the door are $6. There will also be a great halftime show. There is something there for the entire family. |
