"In Custody" is compiled from the public records of the Wharton County Sheriff's Department. Persons arrested have been charged with crimes but may not be guilty. Under law, they are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. The purpose of bail bonds is not to punish but to assure that the person charged with a crime will appear in court when summoned.
