Edmund Lach Funeral services for Edmund Antonio Lach, age 78 of Wharton, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, at Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Dominic Antwi-Boasiako officiating with a rosary recited by the Knights of Columbus. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was held Tuesday. Mr. Lach died Sept. 23, 2007, in a Wharton nursing home following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 10, 1928 in Poland, son of the late Mikolaj Lach and Antonina Chrapek Lach. He had been a longtime resident of Wharton, emigrating from Poland in the early 1940s. Mr. Lach worked as a truck driver for Wharton Tractor for many years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings in Poland and sister, Stasia Ziober. Survivors include wife, Rosemary Lach of Wharton; step-sons, Michael Wasicek of Wharton, Anthony Wasicek of Boling and Kenneth Wasicek of Sheridan.
