Lalo, Agnes Martinez celebrate anniversary

Lalo and Agnes Martinez celebrate 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 24.

Lalo and Agnes Martinez were married on Aug. 24, 1947 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Newgulf.

They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 24 in Pharr at the home of their son. The event featured a family dinner and mariachi band entertaining a company of family and friends.

Lalo and Agnes have two sons, Eddie Martinez and Lali Martinez; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Lalo worked for Texas Gulf Sulphur Company for 33 years and Agnes worked for the Newgulf hospital for 23 years.

Both are retired and enjoying their retirement.
