Mechura, Sebesta wed in East Bernard

Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Wayne Sebesta
Carrie Jean Mechura of Wharton and Matthew Wayne Sebesta of Wharton were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007.

Rev. Don Ruppert officiated at the double-ring ceremony held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard.

Carrie is the daughter of Ronnie and Connie Mechura of Lane City. She is the granddaughter of Johnny and Leona Popek of Bay City and Rudy Mechura of Lane City and the late Alyce Mechura.

Matthew is the son of Ronnie and Sharon Sebesta of East Bernard. He is the grandson of Frank and Leona Sebesta of Richmond, Syl and Joyce Dusek of East Bernard and Helen Dusek of Rosenberg.

The church was decorated with two altar arrangements of stargazer lilies, hot princess roses and spray roses, white snapdragons, white larkspur and wax flowers.

Organist was Jeanie Gunter and soloist was Meagan Zepeda.

Escorted to the altar by her father, Ronnie Mechura, Carrie wore a wedding dress designed by Allure Couture which was made of snow white organza. It featured at corset bodice with drop waist and strapless modified sweetheart neckline with deep vee in the back. It also featured elaborate crystal and beadwork over traditional embroidery. The gown featured an A-line skirt with pickups around it and it featured beaded lace appliqués and was completed with a chapel-length train. Her veil was also chapel-length and was beaded with rhinestones.

She carried a round bridal bouquet fashioned from stargazer lilies, hot princess roses and one yellow rose in the center in memory of her late grandmother, Alyce Mechura.

Maid of honor was Ashley Bartek of El Campo. Matron of honor was Leslie Lutringer of Wharton, sister of the bride. Bridal attendants were Michaela Popek, Emily Sebesta, Amanda Barker, Brittani May, Kimberly Hacker, Amy Sebesta and Elizabeth Sebesta. Junior bride was Rachel Hacker.

Bridal attendants wore halter gowns of black crystal chiffon featuring a hot pink satin sash at the waists. The skirts were tiered and fell to slipper-length.

They and the junior bridesmaid carried hand-tied bouquets of stargazer lilies. The flower girl carried a pommander ball of hot princess spray roses and hot pink and black ribbons.

Flower girl was Shelby Hacker, godchild of the groom. Ring bearer was Dylan Lutringer, nephew of the bride.

Christopher Sebesta of East Bernard and brother of the groom was the best man. Groomsmen were Derrick Lutringer, Dustin Silva, Kevin Hacker, James Riley, Wesley Sebesta, Jeremy Sebesta, Rhett Weighat and Brian Raabe.

Witnesses were Mary and David Hacker of Rosenberg and James and Florence Faikus of East Bernard.

A reception, dinner and dance were held at the Wharton Community Civic Center after the ceremony. The bride's and groom's cakes were made by Mary Hacker, cousin of the groom, and Debbie Zwahr, cousin of the groom.

After a wedding trip to South Padre Island, the couple will make their home in Wharton.

Carrie is a 2003 graduate of Wharton High School and is employed at Stephenson & Company in Wharton.

Matthew is a 2002 graduate of East Bernard High School and is employed at Nalco Chemical Company in Sugar Land.
