Louise shocks county rival Boling, 35-14

LOUISE - Louise relied on the running of Antwon Parson and Kyle Lawson, who combined for 232 yards rushing , to take a 35-14 victory over Boling here Friday night at Hornet Stadium.

The Hornets got on the board on their first drive of the game on fourth and 3 from the Bulldog 26 when quarterback Cory Hajovsky connected with Parson for a touchdown. Hajovsky missed the extra point leaving the score 6-0 with 7:10 left in the first quarter.

After the Bulldogs turned the ball over on downs, the Hornets took over at their own 42 with 1:40 left in the quarter and added to their lead.

On third and 3 from the 18, Parson picked up 13 yards to the Bulldog 5. Five plays later Lawson ran the ball in from the three yardline. Lawson added the 2-point conversion making the score 14-0 with 9:23 left in the half.

The Bulldogs drove to the Hornet 26 yardline on their next drive, but Chris Hicks intercepted a pass and the Hornets took over at their own 34 with 4:51 left in the half.

Lawson ran the ball in from eight yards out on the next possession. The 2-point conversion was no good leaving the score 20-0 with 1:46 left in the half.

The Bulldogs began their next drive at their own 40 and two plays later Justin Hobbs connected with Thomas Felder for a 57 yard touchdown pass. The 2-point conversion failed, leaving the score 20-6 with 1:03 left in the half.

Hicks intercepted another pass on the Bulldogs' first possession of the second half and the Hornets added to their lead on the next possession.

After Lawson picked up 10 yards to the Bulldog three yardline, Desmond Pulliam ran the ball in on the next play. Hajovsky connected with Javier Padron for the 2-point conversion making the score 28-6 with 6:54 left in the third quarter.

After the Bulldogs turned the ball over on downs on their next possession, the Hornets added to their lead.

On second and 13 from the Bulldog 31, Hajovsky connected with Padron for 13 yards. The Bulldogs were flagged for a late hit and the Hornets got the ball at the Bulldog 20.

On fourth and goal from the 2, Lawson ran the ball in to add to the lead. Hajovsky's kick was good making the score 35-6 with 2:33 left in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs drove to the Hornet 18 yardline on their next possession, but Hajovsky intercepted a pass and the Hornets took over at their own 14.

The Hornets were forced to punt on their next possession, but the ball was snapped over the punter's head and the Bulldogs took over at the Hornet 28.

Hobbs connected on passes of 17 and 6 to Felder to set up a second and 4 at the five. Hobbs then connected with B.W. McLeod on the next play for the touchdown. Hobbs connected with Sean Hollis for the 2-point conversion, making the score 35-14 with 5:22 left in the game.

Hobbs completed nine of 21 passes for 122 yards and Felder caught three passes for 80 yards.

The Bulldogs had 163 yards for the game.

Lawson picked up 145 yards on 30 carries and Parson picked up 87 yards on 13 carries.

Hajovsky completed four passes for 67 yards.

The Hornets totaled 327 yards for the game.

The Bulldogs, who drop to 1- 2 on the season, take next week off before traveling to Palacios on Oct. 5th.

The Sharks beat Danbury 50-0 last night.

The Hornets, who improve to 3-1, host Shiner next Friday to begin district play.
