Woman arrested after reporting drugs A puzzling encounter that resulted in an arrest serves a reminder it's best not to try to become a freelance narcotics officer. According to her arrest report, Theodora Leslie Galton, 40, of 618 Fahrenthold called police to her home at 12:36 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 9. When a police sergeant arrived, the woman handed him a cigarette box containing a marijuana cigarette. She told the officer that a little earlier in the evening, she'd gone to a nearby house where her former boyfriend lives. She told the sergeant she'd paid her ex-boyfriend $20 and he'd given her the marijuana cigarette. She then went back to her home and called police. But rather than getting her old boyfriend in trouble, Galton herself was arrested on a charge of possession of marijuana. "Citizens cannot legally possess marijuana," El Campo Police Chief Jim Elliott said. |
