Preparing the ground
A bulldozer moves dirt on the site where a Buc-ee's convenience store will soon be built. Located at the corner of FM 102 and U.S. 59, the 25,000 square foot service station is expected to create 75 jobs with an annual payroll of $1.5 million. Cost of construction is $3 million. Although the Lake Jackson based company will utilize only a 13-acre tract, the firm has agreed to elevate a 25-acre parcel. The building pad must be raised more than three and a half feet.
