Wharton returns to action on Sept. 21 against EC

      Wharton's football team took several steps backward in last Friday's 31-0 loss to Brazosport at Tiger Stadium. "We definitley have some things that need to work on," said Tiger coach Gary Van Sant who aggreed that nothing positive that came out of the game.

Lady Tigers complete non district schedule

      BOLING - Boling's football team takes a win into Friday's open date on the schedule. The Bulldogs scored four touchdowns in the fourth quarter to run away from Ganado 54-21. "It was good for our guys to get the win," said Boling coach Neal Majewski.

      BOLING - Boling's volleyball team improved to 9-14 on the season after beating Ganado 25-19, 28-26, 25-15 Friday afternoon in the Doghouse. "We played okay at times," said Boling coach John Black. "We kind of lost focus in the second game.

      PORT LAVACA - Wharton's boys cross country team ran into some stiff competition at Saturday's Calhoun Invitational held at Magnolia Beach. Wharton finished 11th with 306 points. Host Calhoun took the team title with 30 points.

EB girls tie for 1st at Sealy Invitational
      SEALY - East Bernard's girls cross county team tied for first at Saturday's Sealy Invitational. The Brahmarettes and host Lady Tigers both finished with 46 points. Brazos was third with 48 points. Bellville was fourth with 78 points and Columbus was fifth with 117 points.

Wharton Frosh, JV spiker teams play in Industrial tournament
      VANDERBILT - Wharton's junior varsity volleyball team went 1-2 during Saturday's Industrial Invitational Tournament held in Cobra Gymnasium. Wharton lost to Enda 25-20, 25-22 in a first round match but bounced back to beat Van Vleck 25-18, 19-25, 15-7 in a second round match.

      SEALY - East Bernard's boys cross country team finished third among six teams at Saturday's Sealy Invitational. Brazos took the meet championship with 18 points. Host Sealy was second with 61 points and the Brahmas totaled up 73 points.

      EAST BERNARD - East Bernard's volleyball team dropped its third straight match after losing to 6th ranked Edna 25-17, 25-14, 25-11 in Brahma gym Friday afternoon. East Bernard entered Tuesday's home match against Flatonia with a 9-14 record.
