Allen Dusek

Allen Eugene Dusek, 65, of Livingston and formerly of El Campo, died unexpectedly Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 in Lake City, Colo.

He was born July 24, 1942 in Wharton County to the late Charles and Annie Rose Triska Dusek.

He graduated from St. John Seminary High School in San Antonio before attending Assumption Seminary and the University of St. Thomas. Mr. Dusek graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1965. He was a teacher and coach for El Campo ISD in 1965. Mr. Dusek served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968. He returned to teach and coach in El Campo until 1969. Mr. Dusek then worked in the Humble ISD as a teacher, a coach and in administration. He earned his master's degree from Sam Houston State University during this time. Mr. Dusek was superintendent of Tidehaven ISD from 1984 to 1997.

After retirement in 1997, he and Darlyn lived in Blessing until 2000 when they moved to Lake Livingston. In 2003, they began spending summers in Lake City, Colo.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Darlyn Dusek of Livingston; sons, William Kohler and wife Donna of Humble and Chuck Kohler and wife Kerri of Humble; daughter, Christina "Tina" Fuller and husband Glenn of Spring; grandchildren, Dori and Alex Kohler, Shelbi and Mason Kohler and Jackie, Jeremy, Joey, Jacob, Colby and Anya Fuller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene Dusek.

A rosary service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007 at Triska Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. Philip Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Janak officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society or to the Alzheimer's Association.
