Hundreds of people, including family and friends, WISD trustees, administrators, and staff, showed up before 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 6 to give the Wharton High School Tennis Team a community send-off as members of the varsity team travel to Cedar Park High School (near Austin) to take on the Little River Academy Bumblebees. These two talented varsity teams are playing in the regional semifinal today. To advance this far, WHS defeated El Campo for the district title and earned a first round bye. WHS then beat Livingston in the area round (played in Conroe), followed by a regional quarterfinal victory over Huffman Hargrave (played in Waller).
