The East Bernard VFD created a post on its Facebook page that focuses on all Wharton County farmers. With a photo included of a burning tractor being extinguished by a firefighters, the post read: “To all farmers out there getting ready for this coming year, don’t let this happen to you.” It asked for internet users to log on to the Texas A&M Forest Service and information it has on Wildfire Education & Prevention. The website is as follows: tfsweb.tamu.edu/PreventWildfire.

In the photo, WCCO2 responded to a trash and grass fire off County Road 272 with East Bernard VFD. The fire was quickly extinguished without any major damage or injuries, Constable J.A. Szymanski said on the Facebook page. “Just a reminder to be careful burning with the lower humidity levels,” he said.
