NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Sealed proposals for contracts listed below will be received by TxDOT until the date(s) shown below, and then publicly read.

MAINTENANCE/BUILDING

FACILITIES CONTRACT(S) ---------------------------------------------------------

Dist/Div: Yoakum Contract 6173-18-001 for REM/ REPL & INSTALL STRUCTURES in WHARTON County will be opened on June 18, 2008 at 1:30 pm at the District Office for an estimate of $83,965.00. Contract 6178-28-001 for REHAB METAL PIPE CULVERTS in WHARTON County will be opened on June 18, 2008 at 1:30 pm at the District Office for an estimate of $150,105.00. Contract 6179-69-001 for GUARDR AIL REPAIR/ UPGRADE (AS NEEDED) in VICTORIA County, etc will be opened on June 17, 2008 at 1:30 pm at the District Office for an estimate of $171,050.00.

Plans and specifications are available for inspection, along with bidding proposals, and applications for the TxDOT Prequalified Contractor's list, at the applicable State and/or Dist/Div Offices listed below. If applicable, bidders must submit prequalification information to TxDOT at least 10 days prior to the bid date to be eligible to bid on a project. Prequalification materials may be requested from the State Office listed below. Plans for the above contract(s) are available from TxDOT's website at www.dot.state.tx.us and from reproduction companies at the expense of the contractor.

Copies of bid documents may be obtained from the City Secretary at City Hall, 120 East Caney Street, Wharton, Texas.

All bids should be submitted in a sealed envelope marked "DO NOT OPEN - SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY".

Bids will be received at the office of the City Secretary until Monday, June 2, 2008 at 2:00 p.m., at which time all bids will be opened and publicly read aloud. Any bid received after that time will be returned unopened. The City Council will consider the bids during the Regular City Council meeting on Monday, June 12, 2008.

The bid package may be obtained from the office of the City Secretary, City Hall, 120 East Caney Street, Wharton, Texas 77488.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities or informalities or both in any bid, and to make an award in any manner, consistent with the law and deemed to be in the best interest of the City.
